According to the police, during a routine check by the Noida Expressway Police near Gulshan Mall, the officers saw two persons riding a motorcycle coming from the wrong side of the road.

When signaled to stop, the suspects tried to run away towards the double service lane of Sector 168. Finding something suspicious, the police chased them.

As soon as the police came inside, the person sitting behind opened fire at the officers with the intention of killing them. In self-defense, the police retaliated, injuring the suspect.

"They have been identified as Deepak Chauhan alias Nikhil, resident of Govindpuri, South Delhi, and Tarun Saxena alias Tannu, resident of Dhaulana village, Hapur district. They are members of 'Thak-Thak' gang. Weapons, laptop recovered. Are." Recovered from them,” said Additional DCP Manish Mishra.

"He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Separate teams have been formed to arrest other gang members," the additional DCP said.

Noida Expressway Police officials said the accused revealed that they were targeting parked cars, breaking windows with slingshots and iron pellets to steal valuables like laptops, bags and purses.
