Noida, UP RERA on Friday pulled up Prayagraj Development Authority for delay in giving possession of flats to home buyers despite getting completion certificates and issued a recovery notice against the government body.

Issuing the instructions, UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy also emphasized that he expects the planning authority to be prompt in executing the registries and handing over possession to the allottees.

Bhoosreddy, while hearing the cases of nine allottees of Prayagraj Development Authority's Alaknand project on April 26 to implement the orders passed in March 2023, observed that the promoter had obtained C (completion certificate) for the project in January. According to the statement, 2024.

“Rera had given relief of possession to these allottees in March 2023 along with interest for delay.However, the promoter had refrained from executing sale deeds in the name of these allottees even after being provided ample opportunity to comply with RERA orders," it said.

Bhoosreddy expressed "strong displeasure over the delaying tactics" of the promoter and referred all nine cases to the court of the RERA Adjudicating Officer, who has been a district judge, to ensure registry and ownership in favor of the allottees by using the powers Can go. This was immediately granted under the Code of Civil Procedure.

According to the statement, "He directed to issue recovery certificate for delayed payment or interest at the rate of SBI MCLR + 1 per cent from 2016 onwards.,

"Moreover, it is financially detrimental to the concerned development authority as the financial liabilities keep increasing with time. He expects the planning authorities to be prompt in execution of registries and handing over possession to the allottees."

He said that RERA is always there to help the allottees who were suffering due to the omissions and commissions of the promoters, the statement said.
