Noida: One person was killed and another injured in an attack allegedly by a group of people in a village in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Police gave this information on Wednesday.
Police said that the incident took place in Dankaur area on Tuesday evening.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Greater Noida Ashok Kumar said that Jitendra and Kamal, residents of Astoli village, had gone to nearby Pipalka village to meet a minor girl.
According to the police, the girl's father had called several villagers, who on his instructions caught the two men and assaulted them.
ADCP Kumar said, “The families of Jitendra and Kamal reported the incident to the local Dankaur police station, following which officials rushed the injured to the hospital, where Kamal (20) later succumbed to his injuries.”
"Kamal's family has lodged an FIR and three suspects have been arrested," he said.
Further legal action is underway and police are searching for others involved in the incident, Kumar said.
