Sultanpur (UP): A contractor died and two construction workers were injured after the shuttering of a house collapsed here. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
He said the incident took place on Monday evening when the three laborers were working in an under-construction house in Tantia Nagar.
Shuttering or formwork is the process of providing support and stability to concrete before it solidifies. It is usually made using wood and steel.
According to police, contractor Shani and two labourers, Dilip and Sunil, were completing shuttering work on the roof of a house when the roof collapsed on them.
He told that the people buried under the debris and the police team rescued the victims with the help of JCB machine.
He was taken to the Government Medical College, where doctors declared Shani (24) brought dead. Police said that the other two injured are undergoing treatment.
Police Station Head Gosaiganj Dheeraj Kumar said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.
