Etawah (UP): A lioness gave birth to four dead cubs at the Etawah Lion Safari here, officials said on Friday.
"Five-year-old lioness Rupa gave birth to four dead cubs at the breeding center early Friday," said Anil Kuma Patel, deputy director of safari.
"The matter is under investigation. The bodies of the cubs will be sent to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly for further investigation," Patel said.
According to officials, this was the second delivery of the lioness. During the previous delivery, Roopa had given birth to two cubs – one was born dead, while the other was alive.
