Jhansi (UP): Four people, including a groom, were killed and two others injured in a collision between a car and a truck near Parichha area here.

He told that the accident happened on Friday night on Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway when three people including the groom were traveling in a car towards the wedding venue.

Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar said that a wedding procession was coming from Bilati village to Chhapra village when a truck hit the car from behind.

Police said that after the accident, the CNG tank of the car caught fire and exploded.

As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. However, at that time four people, including the groom, had died due to burn injuries, it was said.

He said that those killed have been identified as Akash Ahirwar (25), his brother Ashish (20), nephew Mayank (7) and car driver Jaikaran. Two other relatives – Ravi Ahirwar and Ramesh – were injured and taken to hospital, he said. In the local hospital.

SP said that efforts are being made to catch the truck driver who fled from the spot after the accident.
