Agra: Four children drowned while bathing in a pond here on Sunday morning, and five others who tried to save them had to be rescued by the police and local people. The officers provided this information.

This incident took place near Yamuna Expressway under Khandauli police station area of ​​Agra district. He told that the age of all four children was around 10-12 years.

The deceased children were identified as Hina, Khushi, Chandni and Riya.

Police said the five people who tried unsuccessfully to save them included four other children and a woman. They were also drowning before they were rescued by the police and local people. Police said that he is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Etmadpur Assistant Police Commissioner Sukanya Sharma said, “We received information about the incident around 10:30 am.”

“The families (of the deceased children) are from Auraiya and Kanpur, but have been living here for some time,” the ACP said. He said that they earn their living by selling small items in the nearby villages.

Police said five of the nine people present in the pond were rescued and sent to hospital and the bodies of the dead children were sent for post-mortem.
