ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir on Friday said a "united team Pakistan" can defeat "negative forces" as he said negative publicity and social media trolls will not deter the country from moving towards its development and prosperity. Can mislead.
Addressing the Green Pakistan Initiative conference, General Munir said that the country's armed forces, with the support of the nation, will defeat all enemy forces hindering Pakistan's development and prosperity, Geo New reported.
He stressed that negative publicity and social media trolls cannot stop the country from moving towards its development and prosperity.
"Let us all together reject the negative forces and focus on Pakistan's journey of development and stability," he said.
He said, "We are all one united Team Pakistan – Inshallah (God willing), with the cooperation and support of the people, all efforts of those who hinder Pakistan's development journey will fail."
Stressing the need to overcome economic challenges, General Munir said that complete independence is not possible without economic stability.
“In today’s era, complete freedom is not possible without economic stability,” he said, warning that “no instability will be tolerated” in the country’s journey towards prosperity and development.
Last month, the Army Chief had assured the Army's unwavering resolve to support the new Pakistan government's initiatives aimed at economic recovery of the cash-strapped country.
He made this comment during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Pakistan's powerful military, which has ruled for more than half of the country's more than 75 years of existence, has wielded considerable power in matters of security and foreign policy.
