Visakhapatnam, Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy visited Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) here on Thursday and assured it of all possible assistance.
Addressing representatives of employees and trade unions, the minister tried to allay their concerns about the possible closure of the plant
And promised that its production will continue at 100 percent capacity.
He was also accompanied by Minister of State (MoS) for Steel and Heavy Industries B Srinivas Varma.
An official press release from the steel plant said, "...the RINL family should not panic over the closure of the plant...With the blessings and support of the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi), RINL's production will be permanently restored to 100 per cent of the plant's capacity. Will reach to." ,
The Union Minister said that RINL or Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) will help in improving India's GDP.
Later, in a post on Twitter, Kumaraswamy said, “I personally visited and inspected the Vizag Steel Factory in Visakhapatnam… During my visit, I visited various sections of the factory, collected information and met with senior officials. Inspected production processes with.”
He also interacted with representatives of Steel Executives Association (SEA) among other activities.
