Kampala (Uganda), Ugandan off-spinner Frank Nsubuga is set to become the oldest cricketer to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup at the age of 43.

On Monday, the Uganda Cricket Association announced a 15-man squad for the big event in the US from June 2, which will be the country's first appearance in the main round of the competition.

Brian Masaba will lead the team, while Riyazat Ali Shah has been named the high deputy.

At the Africa Qualifiers, Uganda secured their place in the regional finals by finishing second behind Namibia.

They begin their campaign on June 3 in Guyana against Afghanistan, who have been drawn in Group C, which also includes New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and hosts West Indies.

Uganda squad: Brian Masaba (captain), Riazat Ali Shah (vice-captain), Kenneth Waiswa, Dinesh Nkrani, Frank Nsubuga, Ronak Patel, Roger Mukasa, Cosmas Kyawuta, Bilal Hassan Fred Achelam, Robinson Obuya, Simon Ssesazy, Henry Cesendo, Alpesh Ramjani a Juma Miyaji.

Reserve players: Ronald Lutaaya and Innocent Mwebaze.
