Luton (England) Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams has been left out of the Gemada squad against Luton as the club revealed a number of players have been slowed by illness this week.

The United States international recently returned from a long layoff following hamstring surgery.

The Premier League club did not immediately say why Adams was not in Saturday's squad, but manager Andoni Ireola said in a pre-match press conference that several players were suffering from illness.

Adams was an unused substitute in the Cherries' 1–0 win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

The American made his first start for Bournemouth in a 2–1 win over Everton a week earlier. He played the entire game.

When Irola was asked about any new injuries at a press conference this week, he said there were no injuries.

"For me it's important whether they have a temperature or not," the manager said of ill players.

“If you have a temperature, you'll probably have those symptoms for two or three days and it's difficult to play football with a temperature.”
