Balasore, Two youths died after being hit by a train in Balasore district of Odisha. The police gave this information on Tuesday.

The incident took place near Dandaharipur railway gate between Soro and Bahanaga stations in Kharagpur division of South Eastern Railway on Monday night, he said.

He said that the deceased have been identified as Hemant Sahu and Rakesh Padhi.

They were crossing the railway track on a motorcycle but the gate was closed by then, a Government Railway Police (GRP) official said.

"When the Puri-Howrah Express was coming, the person sitting behind suddenly got down from the motorcycle and went on the tracks. The other person immediately ran to save him. Both of them were hit by the train, after which they threw them about 100 meters. “Draged and took away.” " He said.

Railway gatekeeper Niranjan Behera said that he did not know who took his motorcycle.

The police sent the mutilated bodies for post-mortem.
