Lakhimpur Kheri (UP), Two leopards have been found dead in a sugarcane field in the Dhaurhara range area of ​​Dudhwa buffer zone near Tandpurwa village in Dhaurhara tehsil, officials said on Friday.

Field director of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR), Lalit Verma, said the death of two male leopards, around two years old, was reported in a territorial fight on Thursday.

Officials said wounds inflicted by the big cats' large dogs were found on the animals' bodies.

Verma said the postmortem of the leopards was conducted at the Dhaurahara range headquarters as per the guidelines of NTCA (National Tiger Conservation Authority).

He said that the postmortem report has concluded that both the leopards died due to mutual fight.
