Sabarkantha: A father and daughter were killed and two children were seriously injured when electronic goods delivered by an unidentified person exploded in Gujarat's Sabarkantha district on Thursday. Police gave this information.

Wadali police station sub-inspector Jitendra Rabari said the incident took place in Veda village.

"The parcel was delivered by an unknown person. As soon as the electronic item was plugged in, there was an explosion," he said.

Jeetu Vanzara (33) died on the spot, while three injured girls were taken to Wadali Community Health Center and from there to Himmatnagar Civil Hospital.

Vanzara's 11-year-old daughter died at the hospital, while her sister and cousin were undergoing treatment, the police officer said.

Assistant Resident Medical Officer Vipul Jani said the condition of one of the injured girls was critical and she was put on a ventilator.

While a relative of the victims said the parcel was delivered in an autorickshaw, Rabari said police were investigating whether the family had ordered the item.
