Bhopal: Two people were killed and 11 injured in a clash between two groups over a dispute over government land in Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

An official said that the incident took place in Barsora village of Nazirabad police station area in the morning.

He said a clash broke out between two groups of villagers, who attacked each other with sticks, resulting in the death of two people, identified as Jaswant Gurjar and Ranglal Gurjar.

Eleven others were injured, he said.

The groups were fighting over land on which the government had installed silos. The official said the land had recently been vacated and both the groups were eyeing it.

The investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested yet, he said.
