Bhaderwah/Jammu, Two interstate roads connecting Doda district of Jammu region with Punjab and Himachal Pradesh were reopened on Saturday after remaining closed for three days due to the terrorist attack. The officers provided this information.

This development has brought great relief to tourists and local people.

Militants attacked a joint security post at 12,000 feet high Chattargalla, the highest point on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot and Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate roads, on Tuesday night, injuring five soldiers and a special police officer.

A massive search operation was launched to nab the terrorists, while traffic on the two busy interstate roads was suspended to avoid any untoward incident.

All high altitude picnic spots including Guldanda, Chattargalla Pass, Padri and Jai Valley were also banned after the terrorist attack.

Officials said although efforts are on to neutralize the terrorists, two important roads have been made safe with the deployment of additional forces.

Bhaderwah Development Authority Chief Executive Officer Bal Krishna said all restrictions on movement of local people and visitors have been lifted and tourists should not pay attention to rumors as "we assure the safety of all visitors at all high altitude places" ".

Locals and visitors thanked the administration for lifting the restrictions and said they had full confidence in the security forces. 6/2/2024 NSD
