Thiruvananthapuram: Two history-sheeters were injured in the accidental explosion of the crude bombs they were carrying in nearby Thumba on Sunday. Police gave this information.

The incident took place at Nehru Junction in Thumba in the afternoon.

According to the police, these people, accused in several criminal cases, had come to the area with crude bombs to attack people of their rival gang. But the bombs suddenly exploded in the hand of one of them and were later handed over to the police by locals, police said.

Both suffered minor injuries and were identified as Vivek and Akhil, police said.

Police said that questioning and investigation is ongoing in connection with the incident.
