Following the death of a patient at a government hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal's East Medinipur district on Thursday, his family members beat up two senior doctors, leaving them seriously injured. Police gave this information.

Five people allegedly involved in the attack were arrested.



Police said that two doctors from the surgery department of Tamluk Medical College Hospital are undergoing treatment in the ICU of the same medical facility.

Based on complaints lodged by fellow doctors and several video clips recorded by them, the police arrested five people.

The video clip shows a group of unidentified persons beating two people with bamboo sticks near the boys' hostel of the medical institute.



The police officer said the doctors were attacked after the death of Sheikh Arif Ali, who was brought to the hospital after a motorcycle accident around 9.15 pm on Wednesday night.

He said, "Ali's condition improved after the doctors treated him. But his family members removed him from the hospital without the hospital's consent. After about an hour, he was brought back to the hospital. Doctors declared him dead." Found."

The officer said that after this the family members started fighting with the doctors on duty.



The police is investigating the matter.
