MUMBAI: Mumbai Police arrested two people for allegedly printing fake currency notes and seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs 45,000 from their possession, an official said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) police on Saturday arrested Naushad Peer Mohammed Shah (36) and Ali Mehndi Tahjerab Hasan Sayyed, residents of Bharat Nagar and Bandra Behram Pada area, the official said. .

He told that both of them were printing fake notes for the last 20 days.

Police have seized FICN with face value of Rs 45,000, Rs 80,000 in cash, a printer, laptop, colors and a mobile phone from the accused.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the officer said.
