New Delhi, TVS Motor Co Ltd on Wednesday said it has launched its operations in Italy with plans to launch a range of both conventional and electric scooters and motorcycles.

TVS Motor Company said in a regulatory filing that the company is expanding its operations in Italy through its branch office, TV Motor Italia, which is headed by Giovanni Notarbartolo Di Furnari.

Furnari has extensive experience in senior managerial roles at leading automotive companies in Italy, Latin America, the UAE and Europe.

"Our move into Italy is a strategic step towards our global ambitions," said Sharad Mohan Mishra, President, Head Group Strategy, TV Motor Company.

The company will introduce its TVS Apache 310 series bike, available in RR and RTR versions, which has been developed in collaboration with BMW.

Other products for the Italian market include the TVS Ronin 250 – a 'modern-retro' lifestyle motorcycle; Commuter bike TVS Raider; The company said that mid-range scooter TVS Ntorq and scooter TVS Jupiter 125, along with electric scooters TVS iQube and TVS

It will also introduce e-bikes, including the Silo, EGO Movement, Simpel and EBC ranges.

Furnari, who has been named as director of TVS Motor Italia, said, "I am setting up a branch office and by offering a wide range of products, bot thermic and electric, TVS Motor has launched a new brand for the Italian market. Underlined its confidence and long-term strategy."
