New Delhi, Kolkata-set film festival, where five-minute 'micro' films will be screened, is inviting entries from filmmakers for its second edition.

Program director Animesh Goswami said the submission of entries for Turi Film Festival 2.0 began from April 15 and will continue till June 15.

Films with a duration of up to 300 seconds (five minutes) in any language (with subtitles) and in any genre can compete in the festival.

According to Goswami, the jury of this edition includes renowned director Sudeshan Roy, National Award-winning filmmaker Ashok Vishwanathan, administrator turned dialogue writer Sagar Kapoor.

A five-minute micro film by director Arindam Sil, known for Bengali films "Byomkesh Hatyamanch" and "Har Har Byomkesh", will be a special focus of the festival, the program director said.

He said, "Filmmaker Arindam Sil has made a five-minute micro film for this year's festival. It will not be part of the competition, but will be a special focus of the festival. He directed and produced the film especially for us. Have done." ,

While voting for the entries is ongoing and will end on July 31, the awards will be announced on August 15, according to information on the ceremony's website.

"In last year's edition, we had five awards. And, this time, we will give 11 awards, but the total prize money will remain at Rs 2 lakh," Goswami said.

In terms of film entries, he said, they are expecting a growth of 15 per cent compared to last year. There were 150 films in competition in 2023.
