New Delhi [India], Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a truck driver for killing the helper of another truck.

Meanwhile, police officials also recovered and seized the truck allegedly involved in the accident.

The arrested person has been identified as Arun (22), a resident of Barolia village in Lakhaura police station limits of Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to police, R.K. informed about the accident of truck helper by an unknown speeding truck in front of PWD office on Ring Road near Bhikaji Cama Place. Received at the police station. June 15, around 11.30 pm, Puram, Delhi.

The injured was immediately taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he died.

The deceased has been identified as Tribhuvan (48), who was a resident of Nasirpur village in Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

A case in this regard was registered at RK Puram police station on the same day of the incident.

The police team inspected the incident site minutely and tried to find eyewitnesses to the incident. They found an eyewitness who said that the deceased was hit by a truck traveling at high speed towards Dhaula Kuan on the Ring Road.

The team reviewed CCTV footage from the Ring Road and surrounding residential complexes up to Dhaula Kuan and narrowed it down to more than a dozen trucks.

After this the suspected truck drivers were interrogated and their trucks were mechanically examined.

Driver Arun Kumar was interrogated on the basis of microscopic evidence collected during mechanical inspection of a truck.

Initially, he tried to mislead the team but eventually admitted that he had caused the accident and went away to avoid arrest.

Accordingly, accused Arun Kumar was arrested and the truck was seized.
