A man allegedly killed his wife with a knife while she slept in Agartala, Tripura's Gomti district. Police gave this information on Monday.
He told that the incident took place in Dhwajanagar on Sunday night.
Udaipur SDPO Ajay Debbarma said the woman was sleeping when her husband attacked her with a knife and as their children started screaming, neighbors ran and caught him.
The husband has been identified as Ashish Dey and has been arrested with a blood stained knife, he said.
He said, Ashish suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair with a man, due to which he might have killed his wife.
Debbarma said the man almost decapitated his wife, he said.
