Agartala (Tripura) [India], To prevent any untoward incident during the upcoming Rath Yatra and Ulta Rath Yatra on 7th and 15th July, the Tripura Government is taking extreme precautionary measures.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha and Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan on Wednesday chaired an important meeting through video conference with District Magistrates and senior officials of all the districts of the state.

The Chief Minister called upon all the organizers and the general public to cooperate with the administration in organizing the Rath Yatra festival in an organized manner.

He further said, "In this regard, today I will chair an important meeting with the District Magistrates and high-ranking officials of all the districts of the state through video conferencing and give necessary instructions."

The CM said, "Along with the administration, I am calling on all the entrepreneurs and the public to celebrate this holy festival of Mahaprabhu in an organized manner."

The Rath Yatra, also known as the Rath Utsav, is believed to be as old as the Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Celebrated with great pomp from New Zealand to London and South Africa, the festival encompasses the onward journey of the Holy Trinity to the temple of her maternal aunt, Goddess Gundicha Devi and ends with the return journey after eight days.

In fact, the festival begins on the day of Akshaya Tritiya (in April) and ends with the return of the holy trinity to the Sri Mandir complex.
