The meeting was attended by top level leadership including Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders.

Meanwhile, PM Modi said the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA knows how to digest victory without making fun of the loser, adding that 'neither were we defeated, nor are we defeated'.

Addressing the meeting of newly elected MPs of the alliance in Parliament, PM Modi mocked the opposition Bharat faction and said that the opposition alliance has been unable to defeat them in the Lok Sabha elections before and this time.

“They (the opposition) tried to keep us under the shadow of defeat,” he said. But it never works. All citizens know that 'neither we were defeated, nor have we been defeated.' June 4th shows our identity that we know how to digest victory. Our values are such that we do not get over-excited in the lap of victory, nor do we have the culture of making fun of the loser; these are our values.
