Agartala, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday directed officials to take action against those facilitating infiltration through the India-Bangladesh border, a senior BSF official said on Thursday.

Officials said 94 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in the state capital Agartala during the last one and a half month.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the increase in infiltration and directed officials to take appropriate action against those providing shelter and assisting in illegal border crossing.

BSF DIG SK Sinha said that the recent general parliamentary elections and deployment of BSF in Manipur has affected the manpower on the border.

He said, "We assured that coordinated efforts with all agencies will yield positive results. Identifying middlemen and taking action against them will reduce incidents of infiltration. BSF is in the process of installing electronic surveillance gadgets in sensitive areas along the border. Is."

Nearly 85 percent of the 856-km long India-Bangladesh border in the northeastern state has been fenced so far.
