Agartala (Tripura) [India], Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday announced the launch of e-office initiative in all Panchayat offices across the state. Certificates of achievement were awarded to departments that achieved 100 percent success in implementing the e-office system.

The statement was made during an event in the auditorium on the second floor of the Secretariat.

This initiative, aimed at improving cleanliness, efficiency and accountability in the administration, marks a significant step in the state's digital transformation. The e-office platform has been expanded to all Panchayat offices in Tripura, setting a benchmark for digital governance.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Saha emphasized the state government's commitment towards digitalisation across sectors to ensure clean governance. He noted that e-Cabinet systems already exist, facilitating rapid service delivery.

Saha highlighted that 587 Gram Panchayats, 589 Village Council Offices, 4 District Panchayat Offices, 4 PRIs, 35 Panchayat Samitis, 40 Block Advisory Committees and 8 District Councils are now integrated with e-office facilities. Furthermore, crucial departments such as Information and Culture, Education and Urban Development have also adopted e-office systems.

The Chief Minister underlined that the successful implementation of the Beneficiary Management System (BMS) has further strengthened the state's digitalization efforts, enabling residents to avail services seamlessly. He expressed that the state government is working seriously to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a digital India.

Speaking at the event, IT Minister Pranajit Singh Roy said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the state has made significant progress in digitalization efforts. Despite being a small state, Tripura ranks well in digital initiatives at the national level. He reminded that the implementation of e-office in mission mode began in May 2023 and has since been expanded to include Panchayat level offices.

The event was attended by Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Commerce and Industry Secretary Vishweshri B, Education Department Secretary Raval Hemendra Kumar, Urban Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Revenue Secretary Punit Agarwal and other secretaries and officials of various departments.
