Tripura BJP chief spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said the party has served a show cause notice to Jamatia and asked him to file a reply within five days.

Chakraborty also said that these were his personal comments which were strongly rejected by the party.

Chakraborty told the media, "Our state president Rajib Bhattacharya will decide on action after receiving the reply from Jamatia."

Jamatiya, a veteran tribal leader who is also the chairman of the state-owned Tribal Rehabilitation and Plantation Corporation (TRPC), had alleged that TM supremo Debbarma "through his narrow politics is creating hatred among different ethnic groups like Tripuris, Jamatiyas". Spreading it." And Reang and tribal is a non-tribal".He also claimed that Debbarma, a descendant of the erstwhile Tripura royal dynasty, has not only "betrayed the tribals in the name of politics involving indigenous people" but also damaged the image and reputation of the state's royal family.

He insisted that "indigenous people would not support his party if he did not apologize."

Terming Debbarma a 'middleman', Jamatia said the TMP chief was said to be against the BJP till recently, but now he has changed his colors and has joined the BJ to serve his personal interest.

He also cautioned the top BJP leadership against placing too much trust in Debbarma, who "only has to fulfill his personal agenda".

“I am a loyal soldier of the party and a devoted follower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. That's why I'm saying all this. This man (Debbarma) can do good to the state and its natives. I must try in every way to protect the interests of my party,” Jamatia said.

TMP remained silent on Jamatia's comment but BJP rejected his statement.

After signing a tripartite agreement with the Center and the state government on March 2, the opposition TMP joined the BJP-led coalition government in March and lost two of its MLAs - Animesh Debbarma and Brishketu Debbarma.
