Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, CM Siddaramaiah said, “There has been a scam in the banks and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman should resign, and the Prime Minister should also resign. Will he tender his resignation?

“The investigation is ongoing, and the report is pending. No preliminary or final report has been released yet. Once the charge sheet is submitted, the report will be provided.

When CM Siddaramaiah was asked about big transactions not coming to his notice, he replied, “It will not always come to my notice. The prescribed amount will be released to the treasury officials. It will not come under my knowledge or require my signature. The investigation is not over yet. I am repeatedly saying that no report has been submitted regarding the matter.

He said, “Let the investigation be completed and the report be submitted first. How can you set responsibilities before it's over?”

CM Siddaramaiah further said that it is not possible to transfer money directly from the government treasury.

He said treasury officials would provide money, which could later be misused.

The case is being investigated by three agencies, CBI, ED and SIT.

He insisted, “Let the SIT report come out first.”

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday admitted that there was misappropriation and misuse of funds by officials in the Tribal Welfare Board and ministers had assured him that he had no role in it.

The BJP is alleging direct involvement of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the irregularities.

The BJP is also demanding the resignation of Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil and Board Chairman Basanagouda Daddal.
