Los Angeles [US], John Cena and Awkwafina-starrer 'Jackpot!' Trailer of! Has been unveiled.
Set in Los Angeles in 2030, Jackpot! Centers on Katie (Awkwafina), a struggling actress who wins the lottery, not knowing that the state of California grants everyone else until sunset to murder the winner and claim the prize money without any consequences. According to The Hollywood Reporter, helping Katie survive is an amateur lottery security agent (Cena), who gets a cut of the cash if she survives.
"Katie, you won the lottery. Now, if someone takes the losing ticket and kills you before sunset, they legally get your money," Cena explains in the trailer. When Awkwafina responded that it sounded like murder, she clarified, "Oh, not in California. It's just a chance at the big time."
Later, Awkwafina told him, "I trust you. I think it's because you look like a bulldog that, like, was put under a spell by a witch and turned into a human. Did you ever know walked?"
Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) directed Jackpot! Feig previously directed other beloved action comedies like "The Heat" and "Spy." Feig "Jackpot!" Produces. With Joe Roth, Jeff Kirshenbaum and Laura Fischer. Actors Cena, Michelle Morrissey, Zach Roth, and screenwriter Rob Yescombe are executive producers.
'Jackpot!' Will be released on Prime Video on 15th August.
