The deceased was identified as Gopal Gupta, resident of Hari Nagar Extensio, Jaitpur.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajesh Dev, said: "He was working as a security guard with GSS Securities and performing the duties of a traffic marshal at Mithapur Chowk."
Initial investigation revealed that Gopal was an alcoholic.
"He came to the spot of incident (tin shed) where he slept near Rajes alias Sonu, who knew him. Rajesh has been traced and his statement has been recorded. Prima facie case of murder. guess not." DCP said.
The DCP further said that the fresh injuries on Gopal's body were caused by gnawing by rats.
"Gopal's postmortem is being conducted at AIIMS. Further legal action will be taken as per the findings of the autopsy report," the DCP said.
