Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Nearly two and a half lakh tourists have come to Shimla in the last two or three days to escape the scorching heat in the rest of the country.
The travel and tourism industry has been pleased with the influx of tourists over the weekend following the recent rains in the area.
Local travel agent Kedar Dutt said that he has advance booking till July 15.
"The weather is good. Due to the heat in the plains this year, tourists are coming here. Travel agents, hoteliers, horsemen, taxi operators and porters are having a good time. 2.5 lakh tourists crossed Shimla in 2-3 days. day,” Dutt said.
"We hope this influx of tourists to the area will continue as we have advance bookings till July 15," he said.
Tourist Aman Manchanda from Noida said that the weather is good.
"It is very hot in Delhi and the mercury is above 40 degrees Celsius. The weather here is good as the temperature is around 20 degrees. A large number of tourists are coming here on weekends to spend their holidays," Manchanda said.
Another tourist Anil Khurana expressed happiness over their arrival in Shimla.
"It is very hot in Delhi, it is good to stay here. It is crowded (from tourists), but we are enjoying it. We have holidays and it is the weekend. The weather is good and the administration and police are cooperating, we Happy to be here,” he said.
