Thane, Additional Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik on Thursday reviewed pre-monsoon initiatives for public safety in Thane district, an official said.

Important aspects such as road conditions, dangerous structures, hoardings compliance, drainage maintenance and health care provisions were reviewed in the meeting which was attended by key officials including Collector Ashok Shingare, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and heads of various departments.

It is important to address the threats posed by inadequate infrastructure, including hoardings and dangerous buildings, he said, adding that removal of such structures and relocation of affected residents should be done immediately.

The ACS stressed the need to maintain a 24/7 operational control room equipped with AI and machine learning tools for efficient data processing as well as enhancing surveillance infrastructure, including CCTV coverage, especially in high-risk areas, the official said. Gave.
