Kolkata: TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who filed his nomination on Friday for re-election from the Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha seat, declared a total income of a little over Rs 82 lakh in the financial year 2022-23 in his affidavit.
Banerjee said she earned Rs 71,52,200 in 2018-19, while it increased to a little over Rs 1.51 crore in 2020-21.
The TMC leader, who is contesting from this seat for the third time, declared a total income of Rs 82,58,360 in the 2022-23 financial year, as per his income tax return.
Banerjee said she had Rs 7.72 lakh in cash.
He also declared movable assets worth more than Rs 1.26 crore in the affidavit, which included bank deposits, life insurance policies and 30 grams of gold.
The TMC leader said that two cases are pending against him, one in Tripura's Khowai police station and the other in the Bhopal district sessions court for alleged defamation.
