Santa Clara, the Indian American-dominated TIE Silicon Valley, has embarked on a new path of diversity and inclusion by focusing on other communities with greater participation of women and youth in its activities.

Founded in 1992 by distinguished Indian Americans, TiE Silicon Valley has produced capable entrepreneurs who have amassed a net worth of over US$1T and built successful businesses in technology.

Over the past three decades, it has emerged as the leading and most influential technology conglomerate not only in the US but across the world.

Anita Manwani, the first female president of TiE Silicon Valley in its more than 32-year history, believes the time has come to give it a new direction.

“This is no longer just an Indus conference. It's an international conference that includes a lot of women representing VCs, female speakers, CEOs and founders of AI companies and many different people...This year actually 39 percent of our speakers were non-Sindu. Manwani said on the occasion of Juice, TiECon's annual conference concluded in Santa Clara, California.

Considered Silicon Valley's premier annual conference, TiECo has been recognized as the world's largest conference for entrepreneurs since 2008.

An experienced corporate executive and entrepreneur, Manwani is one of 80 women recognized in the United States for her leadership in technology, and one of the Top 10 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley.

Ahead of the annual gathering of entrepreneurs and VCs, TiE Silicon Valley partnered and collaborated with other organizations so “we can advance their startups and we can engage their members to come and participate in TiECon,” he said. Said.

“So, it's not just a flip of a switch or a function of digital marketing that we've done a great job of this year. But it has also been a pathway to TiECon and our collaborations with Silicon Valley and other organizations around the world,” Manwani said.

In response to a question on India, Manwani said that India is becoming such a big power in the explosion and revolution of AI; From the semiconductor renaissance and in the context of Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi supporting many startups.

In fact, this conference, based on TiE's ties to Silicon Valley, had participation from 30 Indian startups in TiECon.

He interacted with top vice chancellors and also visited the Met headquarters. “We have great confidence in these startups. These startups are doing some amazing work in the field of EV batteries, in the field of education and also in the field of agritech. So these are some amazing startups,” she said.

Manwani said she has been 'amazed' by the Indian startup talent after meeting them, adding, 'The world has really become democratized by the way they are dealing with AI. Certainly, India is one of the leaders there along with the US and so everyone speaks the same language."

They're really focused on making sure that their solutions are solving local problems. And once they solve it, if you can solve a problem for India, you can take that problem and solve it anywhere globally. Because these agritech solutions, EV battery solutions, are going to be universal innovations that will help everyone with their carbon footprint,” she said.
