Indore, Three workers sustained burn injuries in an explosion in a firecracker factory in the forest area of ​​Indore district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday afternoon. Police gave this information.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umakant Choudhary said that according to preliminary information, the blast occurred when workers were making 'twine' bombs in a shed-like structure at the factory, about 5 km from Amba Chandan village.

He told that all three have been admitted to Choithram Hospital in Indore.

The official said that one of the injured laborers was from Indore, while the other was from Yavatma district of neighboring Maharashtra.

He said that police and local administration officials have reached the spot and started investigation. He said that the cause of the explosion has not been known yet.

The DSP said preliminary investigation revealed that the factory was operated by Shakir Khan, a resident of Rau town adjacent to Indore.

He said an investigation was being conducted to find out whether Khan had a license to run the factory or not.

Indore Collector Ashish Singh went to the hospital and inquired about the well being of the injured labourers.

"Around 12 to 13 people were working in eight different sheds at the Factor premises in a forested area. There was an explosion in one of the sheds, injuring three workers," he said.

He said that fire extinguishing equipment was present in the factory premises.

The official said investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the blast.
