According to the two complaints, in the first case, three youths lodged a report with the Ambedkar Nagar SP, claiming that constables beat them up, confined them in a house and extorted Rs 80,000.

In the second incident, another man alleged that he was detained at a police post, beaten and forced to pay Rs 30,000.

Ambedkar Nagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Kaustubh has suspended three constables.
, Navneet Rana, and Parvez.

They have also started investigation by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by an ASP-rank officer.

"Preliminary investigation reveals that the constables demanded money in bot cases even after the dispute was resolved amicably between the accused parties," the officer said.

The SP has issued notice to the three constables and also sought clarification on their actions. To ensure impartiality, two police circle rank officers have been included in the SIT.
