Elections were held simultaneously in four phases between 13 May and 1 June.

On May 23, re-polling was also held at two booths under Kantamala assembly constituency of Boudh district.

Adequate security arrangements have been made across the state for smooth counting of votes on Tuesday following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Police sources said the EVMs have been safely stored in strong rooms at 69 locations (78 buildings) across the state, which are under CCTV surveillance and guarded by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel.

Counting of votes will take place at 168 centres, one center each for 147 assembly constituencies and 21 parliamentary constituencies of the state.

Three-tier security arrangements have been made at each strong room where EVMs are stored and at counting sites across the state.

78 platoons of CAPF personnel are guarding the strong rooms and counting centers as the first layer.

Similarly, 78 platoons of Special Armed Forces of Odisha Police and adequate number of police personnel from the respective district police forces have been deployed under second and third tier security arrangements to ensure peaceful and error-free counting of votes.

Several platoons of additional CAPF forces have also been deployed at the counting centres.
