Jammu: Three people were killed and several were seriously injured when a car skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Tuesday. The officers provided this information.
Officials said the accident occurred at around 5.45 pm near Soundar in the remote Dachhan area.
He said rescue workers retrieved the bodies of three people from the scene, while three others were taken to hospital in critical condition.
Officials said the identity of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained and the car was going from Kishtwar towards Dachhan.
In another accident, officials said a bus overturned near Dayalachak on the Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua district this afternoon, injuring at least 12 passengers.
He said that the injured were taken to the hospital and their condition is said to be stable.
