In Bijapur, the firing took place in a forest near Jappemarka-Kamkanar village under Mirtur police station limits, where a team of the District Reserve Gwar (DRG) was on an anti-Naxal operation, an official said.

Based on inputs about the presence of Maoists in the forests of Belpocha Jinetong and Uskawaya villages, an anti-Naxal operation was launched on Friday night involving personnel of all units of the state police - DDR, Bastar Fighter and District Force.
