Jajpur (Odisha): Three laborers engaged in pipeline laying work died and two others were injured when a pile of soil fell on them in Jajpur district of Odisha. Police gave this information on Thursday.

The incident took place late on Wednesday night in Rahsa village of Kapila Panchayat of Binjharpur police station area of ​​the district.

Two of the dead have been identified as Akhtar Ansari and Firoz Ansari, while another person is yet to be identified, a police officer said.

The deceased and injured were contract laborers from Bihar and Tamil Nadu.

He said, he was working for a private company.

A part of the soil that the workers had dug to lay the pipeline fell on them and five workers were buried.

They were rescued and sent to hospital where three of them died, the police officer said.

He said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident and investigation is ongoing.
