The blast took place at the South Glass Factory on the outskirts of Shadnagar town, about 55 km from Hyderabad.

Fire fighters reached the spot and were trying to extinguish the fire. Police and fire brigade personnel are engaged in rescue and relief work. The injured were taken to hospital and the condition of some of them is said to be critical.
The workers are said to be migrants from Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
