Koraput (Odisha): Three people have been found infected with anthrax in Koraput district of Odisha, a health department official said on Friday.

He said that between Tuesday and Thursday, three cases were reported in Lakshmipur block.

Anthrax is a disease caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis.

Koraput Additional District Medical Officer (Disease Control) Satya Sai said, "Anthrax infection has been confirmed in three people. They have been admitted to Lakshmipur Hospital for treatment.
