Shahjahanpur (UP), Police on Wednesday arrested three people circulating fake Indian currency notes in a market here and recovered FICN with face value of Rs 67,500 from their possession.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said that the arrested accused are residents of Lucknow and Shahjahanpur.

Acting on a tip-off, police stopped some people traveling in a car this afternoon and recovered fake notes of Rs 100 and Rs 500 (FICN) with face value of Rs 67500 from them, he said.

During interrogation, he told that he had brought fake notes from Dubagga area of ​​Lucknow. Each fake note of face value Rs 100 was sold for Rs 60.

They used to bring fake notes into the market here.

The arrested people have been identified as Neeraj Kumar Shukla, Vivek Kumar and Jabar Singh, while their associate Chandan fled from the spot, the officer said.
