Muzaffarpur (Bihar): Three people have been arrested in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district and an AK-47 rifle and five cartridges have been seized from their possession, police said on Wednesday.

District Senio Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar told reporters that based on a tip-off, two people named Vikas Kumar and Satyam Kumar were caught near Muzaffarpur Railway Station in the early hours of Tuesday and parts of AK-47 rifle were seized from their possession. . ,

Based on the information given by him, another person, identified as D Mani Rai, was caught in Fakuli police station area.

Kumar said the remaining parts of the AK-47 rifle and five cartridges were later seized from a location in Fakuli.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway, the SSP said, adding that police suspect that the trio are part of a gang active in illegal sale and purchase of banned firearms.
