New Delhi: Police here on Saturday said they have busted a gang allegedly involved in making fake airbags of top car models with the arrest of three accused from Central Delhi.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Harsh Vardhan, a team of special staff raided two workshops near Mata Sundari Road, where the accused were making fake airbags of top car companies.

The three people arrested from the workshop were identified as Faizan (26), Mohd. He said, Faraz and Furkan, both are 35 years old.

MG has 12 airbags, BMW 13, Citroen 22, Nissan 23, Renault 27, Volkswagen 1, Mahindra 20, Toyota 14, Tata 32, Honda 39, Skoda 57 and Hyundai cars 66 airbags. were seized from a warehouse,” the DCP said.

He said at least 86 airbags of Suzuki, 12 of KIA, eight of Ford, three of Volvo, 1 airbag without logo and 109 raw materials were seized from other workshops.

Police said a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
