Large Eid crowd was seen at Hazratbal Dargah and other mosques in Srinagar.

Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated after the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, special dishes are prepared after the month-long fast to celebrate this festival.

Such Eid prayer meetings were also seen in other districts of the valley including Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Budgam, Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag Shopian and Ganderbal.

Children dressed in new clothes were seen accompanying their fathers to the prayer ground to express joy on the festive occasion. Traditionally, Muslims greet each other with a hug after the Eid prayers to forgive and forget any strained relationships that may have occurred during the year.

Authorities had made adequate security arrangements across the valley to ensure peaceful Eid prayer meetings.

In Jammu division too, a large number of Muslims offered namaz in various districts and according to reports it passed off peacefully.

At many places in Jammu city and other districts of Jammu division, Hindu neighbors came to greet their Muslim friends during Eid celebrations.
