New Delhi, Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said on Monday that there will be no flood in Yamuna this time as the government has made complete preparations to deal with any flood situation.

Speaking ideologically, the minister said that as long as the discharge from Hathankund barrage is less than one lakh cusecs, Delhi is in the safe zone.

"If the water flow from the barrage rises above one lakh cusecs, the first level of alert is triggered. There, there is no cause for concern for Delhiites. The Irrigation and Flood Control Department has made all preparations. I want to assure the people of Delhi, he said, "This time there will be no flood in Yamuna."

The water level of Yamuna in Delhi had reached its highest level of 208.66 meters in the last 70 years on July 17 last year, which was well above the danger level.

In 1978 the water level had reached 207.49 metres. Last year, the rising water level of Yamuna had caused flooding in many areas along its banks.
