“This year the US has decided to license drone taxis, where four to six people can sit and fly like helicopters. There will be more 'changes' in the transportation sector in the future. 166S in Goa.

“If public transport in Goa is improved it will be cheaper for the people. In future Goa should prepare a master plan and make Goa pollution free,” he said.

He said that after the improvement in road connectivity, the number of tourists in Uttarakhand has increased three times, while the traffic congestion in Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar has also reduced significantly.

“Goa has two airports and road connectivity has improved. Therefore, Goa needs a 'master plan of development' otherwise it too will have to face traffic congestion situation like Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar,'' the minister said.

He said that Goa attracts tourists from all over the world and hence there is a need to provide good facilities here. “We have built good roads. Now even middle class people are using electric vehicles to travel and explore places, which are cheaper than fuel,” he said.

He said that Goa should give top priority to making the state free from water, air and noise pollution. “Technology change is happening on a massive scale. We need to use technology in the transport sector and provide better facilities to the public,” the minister said.

He said that about Rs 22 thousand crores have been spent on road connectivity, bridges and other projects in Goa. Gadkari said, "I assure you to sanction another Rs 25 to 30 thousand crore for the work to be done in the next five years."
