Responding to the motion on the President's address in the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi lamented that even after decades of independence, some sections of the society are deprived of basic amenities and highlighted that his government is taking steps to bring them into the mainstream. How is it working?

PM Modi said, "In the next five years there will be a determined and decisive fight for the well-being of the poor and the underprivileged, to raise their standards of living."

He said the next five years will see saturation of basic welfare schemes for marginalized communities.

"The work of the last 10 years is just an appetizer, the main course is yet to begin," PM Modi said, stressing his belief that development so far has been a 'trailer' and real progress is yet to come. .

He said that people who were neglected and ignored for decades after independence are getting due attention in his government.

“For the disabled, our government is working to make their lives simpler and easier and to enable them to live a dignified and dignified life. Our government has made laws for the transgender community and tried to bring them into the mainstream. He has been included in the Padma awards,” PM Modi told the Upper House.

“In our government they are not only recognized but also worshipped,” the Prime Minister said.

Highlighting his government's focus on empowering the marginalized section, PM Modi said, “An important project of Rs 13,000 crore was launched to empower Vishwakarma Samaj with skills, while under the PM Swanidhi scheme, “Street vendors and hawkers have been linked to the banking system.”

He also said that Tier II and Tier III cities will play an important role and serve as the growth engine of the country.
